How Because The Game works

Because The Game turns investing into a reasoning exercise. You build explicit causal chains from economic indicators to asset prices, stake virtual points on your hypothesis, and watch real-world data score your accuracy. Three steps, no real money, fully educational.

Walkthrough: how to build a causal chain, stake virtual points, and track real-world outcomes inside Because The Game.
  1. 1

    Hypothesize

Build a causal chain by linking one variable to another, step by step. Example: rising interest rates → lower consumer spending → weaker tech earnings → falling tech stock prices. The chain can be as short as two links or as long as you can defend.

  2. 2

    Stake

Allocate virtual points to the accuracy and timing of your prediction. Larger stakes mean larger potential rewards if your reasoning holds, and larger losses if it doesn't. All points are virtual - no real money is involved.

  3. 3

    Compete

Each link in your chain is scored against real-world data from BLS, FRED, NSE, and other public market sources. Daily, weekly, monthly, and global leaderboards rank players by accuracy.
