Our six pillars

The full standard, in plain English.

Every article we publish lives by these six rules. They are deliberately short so readers can hold us to them.

01

Educational scope

Nothing on this website or inside the Because app constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. All content is educational and intended to help readers reason about financial markets. Real-world decisions should be made with a qualified, licensed advisor.

02

Sourcing standards

Every quantitative claim is sourced from a primary, publicly accessible institution. Our five-pillar source list is below.

03

Review process

Each educational article is reviewed before publication for accuracy of citations, consistency of terminology, and clarity of reasoning. Articles touching on regulated topics (tax, securities, retirement) include explicit disclaimers and links to relevant regulator resources.

04

Corrections

If a published article contains a factual error, we correct it within five business days of being notified. Corrected articles carry a visible “Updated” date and a brief note describing what changed.

05

Update cadence

Evergreen reference articles are reviewed at least once per year. Time-sensitive market content carries a publication date and is not updated retroactively unless a factual error is present.

06

AI-assisted content

We use AI tools to draft and structure content, but every published article is reviewed by a human editor for factual accuracy and sourcing. AI is never the final authority on a quantitative claim.

Spotted an error?

Email us a link to the article and a short note on what’s wrong. We’ll review and publish a correction within five business days, with a visible “Updated” date noting what changed.
